The daughter of a German father and a South Korean mother, she was raised with deeply ingrained values of productivity and security. But something inside her longed for more. There was another more expansive home, something that wanted her to know it, that was always pulling her into that place of curiosity. As a child, Kim was a daydreamer.
While the teachers tried to keep her focused on assignments, her mind wandered to places they couldn't see. It was as if her soul was planting seeds, showing her glimpses of a different kind of life. But pursuing that path would mean going against everything her family believed in.
Kim's mother had lived through invasion and trauma in Korea. The idea of her daughter taking risks, traveling, exploring, it terrified her. Safety and security weren't just preferences. They were survival. How could Kim follow her heart without breaking her mother's? For years,
Kim tried to fit herself into the life that was expected of her. She got married, bought a house, worked a steady job. On paper, she was living the dream. On the surface, everything looked safe and stable, but inside that pull towards something more was only growing stronger. And then tragedy struck.
Kim's older brother died unexpectedly in a whitewater rafting accident. In her grief, Kim felt her connection to the spiritual realm expanding in ways she couldn't explain. It was as if her brother was guiding her from beyond, calling her to answer a path she could no longer ignore. He was there as a guide.

bringing her to what would unfold as her current work. He was communicating with her through the ether in a way that beckoned her to answer.
Kim began studying meditation, mindfulness, and psychic abilities. She started to tap into gifts she never knew she had. But her journey was far from over. Soon after losing her brother, Kim's own health took a serious turn. She had been dealing with three different tick-borne infections for nearly two decades. Facing a life-threatening illness,
force Kim to reevaluate everything.
What do you do when your body betrays you, when the container you've carefully constructed begins to crack? She realized she could no longer ignore her true path, no matter how unconventional or risky it might seem to others. Kim left her marriage of 28 years, and she moved into a schoolie, a converted school bus, and set off to travel.
She deepened her spiritual practice and began offering workshops as a conscious and trans channel, helping others connect to higher wisdom. It hasn't been an easy road. Kim still struggles at times with her mother's fears and her own moments of doubt, but she's learned to move through the discomfort rather than run from it. And today, Kim...

She sees her purpose as simply being. Being present, being kind, being human, even in all its messy complexity. Kim's story reminds us that sometimes the most profound transformations come through loss and struggle. That by facing our fears and embracing the unknown, we open ourselves to gifts we never imagined.
and that perhaps our greatest purpose is simply to be.
Rachael Popky (05:26.249)
One of the things that was transformational for me was when my older brother passed into light unexpectedly. He was in a whitewater rafting accident. And although I understood at the time that his death was divinely timed, of course there's that human experience of deep grief. And in that grief,
I was teaching meditation and mindfulness and yoga and Qigong and all of those foundational practices. And I had just started dipping my toes into mediumship and psychic abilities. Something was expanding within me that I couldn't explain. When my brother passed, and I would say he passed in service of my family's growth.
And for me, our connection expanded. And he was there as a guide to bring me to what is now unfolding as my current work as a conscious and trance channel. He was communicating with me through the ether in a way that I was beckoned to answer. And so that was something that really thrust me into
This expansive, spacious place of being light, rather than perceptively seeing ourselves as just human, it was something that I could no longer ignore. That was one of my greatest gifts. Shortly after that, I had been dealing with three different tick-borne infections for now it would have been about 19 years.
And so my symptoms became more complicated and I had to get into treatments that were a little bit more experimental in order to manage the disease and hopefully rectify in such a way so that my body could heal. And those diseases were also calling me to another place. In fact, about two years ago, I was planning my death.
Rachael Popky (07:48.721)
I had felt so sick every moment of the day. It was such a struggle to be in my body, even with the practice of meditation, even with body practices. I was bedridden and I was physically diminished to the point where I felt grateful for the life I had and I was also ready to go home. To what I felt like was my eternal home.
you know, just as pulsing sensation. So I started exploring death with dignity and I became so close to death and embraced it in such a way that I felt what I would say is I felt I was on that cusp of both dying and birthing into this new place of experience. And in that time I was still serving clients and
I was doing trauma-informed energy alignment, existential exploration. And more and more people were coming to me that were in the process of dying. So I know that my soul was providing me all that I needed to learn. Through that experience, as I said before, it was leading me somewhere. Ultimately, what ended up happening with the...
the grace and guidance of some incredible doctors and naturopaths and alternative practitioners, I was able to heal. And in that healing, which also included saying goodbye to some relationships and also having people that I loved very deeply say goodbye to me, which felt very painful and wet. I know it was serving me. I wasn't ready to let go, but my soul and their souls knew
Our contract is over and it's time for you to expand beyond this. And so through that dissolving of relationships, through the ability to be healed, I was able to make some decisions that was serving my soul in this very moment. And what was happening, which I think is really important, especially for people with chronic illness,
Rachael Popky (10:08.903)
is that I was receiving these, what I would call as just taps on the shoulder. So when I was bedridden, I was asked to look at tiny houses. I was asked to look at real estate in Hawaii. I'm in the middle of Hampshire stuck on a couch in the middle of winter and I'm thinking, why is this happening? And I I stopped questioning. said, I'm just gonna let myself daydream and have fun with it. And the more and more I let myself,
play with the idea, the more and more I saw that this is your soul's guidance for the next steps of your journey. So in the process of splitting with my partner, I bought a Schooley, which is a converted transit New York City bus that I'm currently living in. And I decided to go to Hawaii. And I was able to be there for about four months.
to expand my healing, to create community, and to really receive what nature was asking to provide me in absolute abundance. Seeing me as soul and me seeing every element of the earth I was connected with as soul itself. Beautiful. my goodness. Wow. What a story. And you know, my favorite
part about it was hearing that you allowed yourself to go back to that core part of just like who you are that you shared about at the beginning about being the dreamer and being in play and that you allowed yourself to go back there and be really just you. And that's so beautiful.
I'm curious too. I heard a couple of moments in your story that it felt like maybe there was some resistance to all the changes. You know, you had mentioned the relationships ending and my goodness, I in the past probably about four years have experienced a lot of that where it's like spirit is chiseling away at me. It is working on creating paths for my life.
Rachael Popky (12:28.843)
And some of that has been almost like this big purge and letting go and things falling away that weren't for me and weren't in alignment. And I know that was really difficult and scary. And it took a lot of even self inventory because it was like, well, if these relationships are ending, what's my part in that? What does this mean about me?
and how can I do better to really be a good friend and be a good human? And I had to look at all of it. And so there was this dance between, of course, just like utterly trusting the process and knowing that there was something bigger happening. But my human was still just like so kind of in some of the pain of it all and the loss and like the like confusion. And I'm curious for you, like.
Were there moments of resistance or kind of that confusion, that feeling of loss and fear as you were setting out on this huge adventure? mean, having a schoolie taking off to Hawaii, you know, healing yourself from near death. I mean, these are some huge transformational moments in your life. I'm curious if you could speak to a little bit of some of the resistance too. absolutely. I mean, and you're right. It is about
surrendering to the trust, surrendering to this feeling and knowing of divine timing. And yet there is human experience. So it's this soul integration, the soul that knows everything that's happening right now is happening for us.
Rachael Popky (14:10.859)
Kim's journey is more than a personal transformation. It's a mirror of the universal quest that we're all being called to. To leave behind what's expected and to walk towards what is true. To grieve what's been lost and listen for what's trying to be born.
And now through her channeling, her presence, her deep devotion, Kim carries her elixir, a medicine not of fixing, but of being, of remembering, of trusting, of softening into the mystery. And this is how we build the new earth, not through force, but through frequency.
Rachael Popky (15:03.851)
Part of this transformation of humanity, there's shifts happening. And it's rapid change. Humanity is evolving. I'm curious what your vision is for this new Earth. Yeah. It looks like lifting one another up. It looks like sharing the abundance that we have with all. It looks like a lack of competition.
and an increase in collaboration and co-creation. And if I had to use one word, it would be kindness. Kindness. Kindness to ourselves, kindness to each other. If that was the guiding principle, you know, what would this world look like? If we were in that state of kindness, no one would be hungry. Everyone would feel seen.
And they would know that they were purposeful no matter what state they, even if they weren't able to have a job, know, for community, if they were, you know, disabled in some way, they weren't able to do those things, that their purpose was just being them, and that was so valuable and nourishing for the world itself. However, I think what's happened is that we're in a state where we are all, I don't want to use the word victim too, but it's
that many of us have not been shown the way of love. There is an idea of what love may look like and people might say that they love one another, but in their actions, in their words, is it purely loving? And we're often, many of us,
very traumatized from our human experience and also holding that ancestral psychic DNA within ourselves that does not reflect the vibration of love. And so I believe in this moment, this shift in consciousness has to begin with learning how to love being, to love being human, to love being soul, to love the journey, to love the experiences.
Rachael Popky (17:22.313)
to love our resilience beyond what may be terrifying or debilitating or, and in this moment I can use the word victimizing. I respect that so much because I think that if we are genuinely from that space of love and kindness and what I'm hearing you say too, like you're not
bypassing any of the other stuff. You spoke to the trauma, the ancestral or the things that you've been through. Somebody might have been through in their own lives, you know, that contributes to their pain body that contributes to maybe some of their behavior that isn't always in alignment with the love and kindness. And so that's what I really like about your message, Kim, is you're keeping it real because sometimes I feel like there's
can be a fluffy answer to that question. And when we say, it is it's about kindness, or it's about love. It gets a little misconstrued, right? Because what I'm hearing you talk about, too, is the love for the whole experience, like the totality of it, like, really the appreciation of being human being a soul right now embodied here on earth. And Earth School is
It's got all of that stuff that's just an intensity about it. And I do, I like that what I'm hearing it is it's not about running from it. It's not about pretending that we're just like light and loving kind all the time. It is about really like being that in spite of.
Hey loves, before we wrap today's episode, I wanted to share how you can connect with the luminous Kim. Kim does conscious and trans channeling and she facilitates powerful in-person workshops and healing experiences. Her gatherings are more than just events and they're sacred places and spaces for transformation. I had the honor of attending one when she was here on the big Island.
Rachael Popky (19:45.501)
And I can say firsthand that her work is profound. There were tears, breakthroughs, and just beautiful moments of connection, both seen and unseen. Kim is intentional, trauma informed, and grounded in an ethical practice, which is so important in this kind of work. And so if you're feeling called to work with her or find out about her next offering,
You can find her links in the show notes. Follow the poll if your soul is saying yes.
Hey love, if you're a leader, someone who's done the work, but you still feel that pull for something more, more adventure, more success, more sacred connection, like your soul is ready to lead in a bigger way, but you're just not quite where you know you could be yet. That's exactly why I created the Sacred Success Synthesizer.
